Safety for the visitors and citizens of Brevard County is a top priority for me.
I plan to implement comprehensive criminal interdiction policies and procedures utilizing the best technology available that will actually catch criminals and get them off the street.
Simply put, BCSO has to many "yes men".
To be competitive and continue to move forward, there must be a reorganization from the top down.
It is critical to immediately upgrade to rifle rated outer vest carriers to relieve the dangerous amount of weight around the beltline increasing the deputies health and preventing injury.
My promise to be transparent is paramount. It's standard practice nationwide .
I will implement body cameras to everyone, including the Sheriff.
We place the public's trust into our sworn members everyday.
I trust that they can choose to wear a hat or not.
Yes, this is a real issue at BCSO.
To further improve morale, facial hair will be allowed to include beards and goatee's if the member chooses.
This will help with recruitment and retention.
Mobile and stationary LPR's are vital tools to today's cops.
I would implement LPR's in all patrol vehicles and at stationary points throughout the county.
I believe in preventing crime before it happens.
I would authorize deputies off-duty use of their take-home car within Brevard County as long as they are able to respond to an emergency when requested.
K-9 units are vital to protecting a community.
I believe we need more K-9 units patrolling Brevard County 24/7.
Your family at home is just as important to me as they are you.
I would create a Family Services office just for BCSO employees to help promote "esprit de corps" and help your family truly become a part of the BCSO family.
I would implement a child care stipend for new parents who are in need of outside care for their young children.
This would improve morale and create more time to spend with your children by not working overtime to pay for child care.
Life is already expensive enough.
To be competitive and recruit the best applicants,
we must be different.
A BCSO training academy will increase the effectiveness of our deputies and bring a higher level of training to our new recruits, that a state college academy just doesn't do.
There are items within the BCSO policy that is simply out of date and restricts our deputies from being effective crime fighters.
I believe in common sense crime fighting policies that allow our deputies to successfully catch criminals without having their hands tied.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE CHANGE THE WAY WE INCARCERATE PEOPLE, TO FOSTER REFORM RATHER THAN PUNISHMENT.
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MEANINGFUL WORK OPPORTUNITIES, THERAPY, AND OTHER SOCIAL AND MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS CAN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE CRIMINALS RISK OF COMMITTING FUTURE CRIMES PROMOTING A SAFER BREVARD.
I BELIEVE HARD WORK PAYS OFF.
LETS START GROWING FRESH FOOD ON THE PROPERTY WE ALREADY HAVE SET UP TO DO SO.
GROWING OUR OWN FOOD WOULD DRASTICALLY CUT COSTS TO THE TAXPAYER AND CONTRIBUTE TO A HEALTHIER JAIL POPULATION.
OVER 50% OF ALL PEOPLE ARRESTED IN THE UNITED STATES REPORT
CO-EXISTING MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE CONDITIONS.
WE CAN DO BETTER.
ANIMAL THERAPY HAS SHOWN TO BE EXTREMELY REWARDING AND PROMOTES INTERAL HEALING, WHICH I BELIEVE IS A START ON THE RIGHT PATH TO BECOMING A PERSON WITH PURPOSE AND MEANING.
UNDERSTAFFING, RETENTION, UNREALIABLE EQUIPMENT, AND UNSAFE WORKING CONDITIONS WILL BE ADDRESSED BY MY ADMINISTRATION IMMEDIATELY.
In 2024, we need leaders not politicians.
It is alleged to cost tax payers over $1,000,000 a year to produce and promote the click bait videos that the current administration uses to update the public. That's a lot of money!
The current Sheriff claims to have 40+ years of law enforcement experience, but has never put on a uniform and worked the streets of Brevard County.
The "Ivey Illusion" is just that, an illusion. He has mislead the voters for years claiming to know how to be a street cop who is tough on crime, yet served in an administrative position for the majority of time at FDLE.
